Cellular mechanisms of fibrin (ogen): insight from neurodegenerative diseases
نویسندگان
چکیده
Neurodegenerative diseases are prevalent and currently incurable conditions that progressively impair cognitive, behavioral, psychiatric functions of the central or peripheral nervous system. Fibrinogen, a macromolecular glycoprotein, plays crucial role in inflammatory response tissue repair human body interacts with various system cells due to its unique molecular structure. Accumulating evidence suggests fibrinogen deposits brains patients neurodegenerative diseases. By regulating pathophysiological mechanisms signaling pathways, can exacerbate neuro-pathological features diseases, while depletion contributes amelioration cognitive function impairment patients. This review comprehensively summarizes biological including Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Vascular dementia, Huntington’s Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Additionally, we discuss potential fibrinogen-related treatments management disorders.

Neurodegenerative Diseases: Mechanisms and Therapies
Neurodegenerative diseases are amongst the most costly and devastating diseases, both to patients as well as to their families. This year will mark the 100th anniversary of the first case description of what we now call Alzheimer’s disease, the most common neurodegenerative disease. This special time provides a unique opportunity for us to reflect on howmuch we have learned and yet to also appr...
متن کاملMechanism of fibrin(ogen) forced unfolding.
Fibrinogen, upon enzymatic conversion to monomeric fibrin, provides the building blocks for fibrin polymer, the scaffold of blood clots and thrombi. Little has been known about the force-induced unfolding of fibrin(ogen), even though it is the foundation for the mechanical and rheological properties of fibrin, which are essential for hemostasis. We determined mechanisms and mapped the free ener...
متن کاملNeuroprotective mechanisms of statins in neurodegenerative diseases
Statins can induce neuroprotective effects by various mechanisms, such as by lowering cholesterol levels; decreasing β-amyloid production, serum apolipoprotein E (APOE) levels, and anti-inflammatory responses; modifying cognition-related receptors, and augmenting endothelial nitric oxide synthase. The use of statins has been related to many neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer’s dise...
متن کاملMechanisms of protein seeding in neurodegenerative diseases.
Most age-associated neurodegenerative diseases involve the aggregation of specific proteins within the nervous system. In Alzheimer disease, the insidious pathogenic process begins many years before the symptoms emerge, and the lesions that characterize the disease—senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles—ramify systematically through the brain. We review evidence that the -amyloid and tau pr...
متن کاملp53 and mitochondrial dysfunction: novel insight of neurodegenerative diseases
Mitochondria are organelles responsible for vital cell functions. p53 is a transcription factor that regulates the DNA stability and cell growth normality. Recent studies revealed that p53 can influence mitochondrial function changing from normal condition to abnormal condition under different stress levels. In normal state, p53 can maintain mitochondrial respiration through transactivation of ...
